Shri Hudhmata & Trisandhaya Mata Shrines are located at an altitude of about 2900 metre (approx. 9600 ft.) from the sea level ; and 33 .32’ North lat./long. and 75 .57’ east lat. /long. near the famous Brahama Peak in Anantnallah Village of Tehsil Dachhan Distt. Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir (India)
These Shrines are 310 km away from Jammu and at a distance of about 82 kms from District Head Quarter Kishtwar.
Every Dev/Devi Sathan (place/shrine) has a historical background, legend and myth connected with its existence and continuance. Many legends/myths are connected with this Shrine also, One is that in Tratya Yug ‘Daksh Prajapati’, (Father of Mata Sati) arranged a grand Yajna in Kankan in Haridwar.
He invited all Devi-Devtas, including Lord Brahama and Vishnu to participate in the yajna. But he did not invite Lord Shiva (His son-in-law) & Mata Sati (His daughter) on this auspicious occasion. On seeing all Devi Devtas going to participate in the Yajna, Mata Sati became anxious and asked Lord Shiva to go there.
Shri Hudhmata and Trisandhiya shrines and their Annual Yatra is run and controlled by a State level Executive Body namely Shri Hudh Mata Trisandhaya Yatra Managing Committee Dachhan (Regd.) Kishtwar which has its Head office at Dilgooth Dachhan.
